Close to many peoples hearts – how many of us started our shooting pastime with a simple airgun? However, SIMPLE is one word that the modern air weapon is NOT and we have a terrific selection, from all the most popular manufacturers on hand.

Sticking close to our GlosGunCo philosophy, we rave about airguns because we really enjoy using them – come along to our HFT layout and use our kit. Carrying a great range of spring, gas-ram, precharged and CO2 guns, learn the key differences between them in our short video HERE.

In a nutshell (or should that be ‘pellet pouch’?) :

Spring Piston Airguns

These are what most people would refer to as a ‘traditional’ airgun. A captive mainspring is cocked, usually using the barrel or a sidelever, setting the air piston before it. Upon the release of the piston, the mainspring pushes it, creating a cushion of high-pressure air behind the pellet, powering it down the rifle barrel. You shall get a little recoil, dependent on the weight of the airgun, but are safe in the knowledge that you are entirely ‘self-sufficient’ – you are not tied down to an external power source. You shall need to re-spring the gun every 2-3 years, dependant on use.

We carry these popular guns from all the main manufacturers – BSA, Webley, Weihrauch, Crosman, Norica and Air Arms.

Gas Ram Airguns

Generally produced from the highly regarded manufacturer, Theoben, gas ram guns have a sealed gas-strut rather than a metallic mainspring – this ensures very consistent performance, lower recoil, less on-going maintainance and higher accuracy than a traditional spring gun. We carry the full Theoben range and find these a brilliant combination of power and accuracy, combining the ease of use and versatility of a springer, with the accuracy and consistency of a precharged gun.

PCP’s – precharged pnuematics

Generally regarded by many as the epitomy of airgun design – excellent accuracy due to their lack of recoil, excellent consistency when combined with a regulated firing valve, lightweight and reliable – we carry rifles from all the top manufacturers – Air Arms, BSA, Daystate, Webley, Theoben, Weihrauch, Falcon and others.
Filled by an external power source, generally a divers bottle or high-pressure pump, each rifle shall give a fixed number of shots before requiring refilling, from 25 shots for an ultra-lightweight from Brocock, to a mighty 400 plus from a regulated Daystate.

CO2 Powered

A cost effective system, found commonly in pistols and favoured by American manufacturers. Small sparklets of CO2 gas are used to propel the pellet, giving PCP type performance but without the hassle of a high-pressure dive bottle. Generally found in the low-powered plinking market, but the 850 AirMagnum by Umarex offers an excellent pest-control solution.

At GlosGunCo we are NUTS about quality air weapons – please do lift the phone to benefit from our years of experience with them – both on the competition scene and in the hunting field. If you have not watched it yet, look at our short video  HERE.
