The face of the Gloucestershire Gun Company is undoubtedly Alastair Blant (aka the Ginger Gun-dealer). He is a super-keen shot, who uses everything from air-rifles & shotguns to full-bore rifles on a daily basis. He trials all the kit we sell to ensure it is of the best possible standard. His emphasis is on supplying kit that works, not what the person behind the counter wants you to buy!

Alastair’s first-ever Saturday job was in a gunshop in Nottingham, where he worked from aged fifteen until leaving school for his degree in Rural Land Management at The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. Having completed his degree, he was headhunted by E.J. Churchill Gunmakers and went on to run the Gunroom at the West Wycombe Shooting School, Berkshire, where he was also responsible for shooting tuition. However, he couldn’t keep away from Gloucestershire for long and returned to take an MBA in Wine Business Management back at the Ag College. From here, he used his new-found business skills to help set up a local gunshop and then to work as South-West Sales Manager for the shooting wholesaler, Highland Outdoors, and then for Guntrader.co.uk.

Having always wanted to branch out on his own, he set up UK Firearms Training, offering training to the police, pest-control services and sourcing guns and rifles for a wide range of clients. As this business took off and his ever-patient wife began to tire of her house being full of guns, he decided it was time to establish The Gloucestershire Gun Company. Al is always tirelessly pushing forward the business, passionate about his sport and ready to bore anyone with his technical knowledge, passion and tuition.
